OHIP Coverage for Eye Care

As a practice in Ontario, your routine eye exams may be covered by OHIP. If you are older than 65 or younger than 20, you’re covered for a full eye exam once every 12 months, as well as follow-up appointments if required.

If you have the following health conditions, you may be eligible for an OHIP-insured eye exam.

These include:

Diabetes mellitus
Glaucoma
Cataract
Retinal disease
Amblyopia
Visual field defects
Corneal disease
Strabismus
Recurrent uveitis
Optic pathway disease
